Why get a Tuscia Viterbese trademark user licence?

The Viterbo Chamber of Commerce set up the Tuscia Viterbese collective trademark to identify products and services produced in the Province of Viterbo and foster their commercial growth and development. In today's difficult market good quality products and DOC, DOP or other guarantee certification may no longer be enough. It is essential to stand out in the crowd and ensure that customers perceive investment in added value. Up until a few years ago commercial success was based on branding, quality and distribution. Nowadays when customers are faced with a range of good quality products all substantially similar, branding and trademarks play a vital role in determining market choices. The Tuscia Viterbese Trademark was set up to fulfill this role through marketing strategies aimed at reaching out into wider markets, both on a domestic and international level, which might otherwise be beyond the resources of small and medium-sized companies.
The Tuscia Viterbese Trademark is a cutting edge tool which:

  • produces concrete benefits in terms of profits
  • publicises the Viterbo area
  • encourages tourism
  • stimulates investments from extra-territorial sources with consequent economic benefits for the whole community.


HOW TO JOIN

Membership is currently free. All you have to do to obtain the Tuscia Viterbese Trademark User Licence is comply with some simple rules, and that entitles your company to become one of the protagonists of a unique opportunity in overcoming the current difficult economic situation. Companies who join the Trademark are bound to respect the "Regulations governing access to and use of the collective trademark" and the contents of the membership application form below.

Companies must verify the following points before applying:

  1. Whether the Tuscia Viterbese organisation has already drawn up the technical protocol of certification governing production of your company's products and/or services (consult our site or pick up the info pack from the Tuscia Viterbese help desk)
  2. whether your company's production processes comply with the appropriate protocol.

If the answer to both the questions above is yes, then your company can apply for a "TT Tuscia Viterbese" collective trademark User Licence. The application, complete with all the necessary documentation (see below "Documentation"), should be sent to the Tuscia Viterbese Helpdesk, it will then be submitted to the Management and inspection committee. The Committee will examine the application and inform the applicant of the outcome, which may be any of the three cases illustrated below (see article 7 in the Regulations):

  • the application is approved and a given period of time is stipulated to comply with the C.I.S.
  • the application is suspended prior to the submission of further elements necessary to determine the applicant's suitability
  • the application is refused with the relevant motivation.

Once the application has been approved the Committee reserve the right to carry out an inspection to ensure that the company does meet the necessary requirements to maintain the Trademark.
